12. Noblot Strolling in his Granada
Emile René Noblot (1908-1965) It was a long time ago that I got the score of Nobro, the composer of the flute masterpiece "Melody", which had been unknown for a long time. But unfortunately it is not the score of "Melody" but "Promenade dans Grenade / Walk of Granada" for cello and piano arranged here. The "melody" you know is a work that has been featured in various flute pieces, and although it is a song that is very familiar to flutists, he was not familiar with the composer. After that, in 2001, Mr. Koichi Nakayama published Andantino & Finale by Tanitec, and the situation of "melody" was clarified. "Walk in Granada" is a sheet music (no opus number) published by Gallet et Fils in Paris, dedicated to cellist and friend Léon Bourquin of the Conseil Lamoureux Orchestra. The song depicts the fascinating Spanish night scene experienced by travelers exploring Granada. There, people sing and dance, get drunk with the reverberating harmony, and end up with a retrospective at the point of 2/4 time signature. I look forward to future research on the composer Nobro. |
