Comment: He surely became a court musician in 1813. He had stayed single throughout his life. He was extremely shy against females. It is said that he could not recover from the agonies of a broken heart for Miss Thomson, or that he had no time to be married for getting money. He told any person in those days that he had no time for it. His real intension seemed to be told in the lyrics of Komische Canon, "Hagenstoltz". He was innately a one-eyed person. Generally, it is said that one can see with one's both eyes before marriage but just with one's one eye after it. Religious precept and his physical problem may have been a reason why he was not married.
