Comment: It is generally misunderstood that Kuhlau was a flutist. In his letter sent to Breitkopf Company on 1813/3/3, he wrote that he could play flute a little bit but had understood it enough. In his letter in 1829, it has been written that he could not even use his finger for playing flute. On the contrary, he had played piano in many concerts. Therefore he was not a flutisit but a pianist.
